Taking into account that the main economic activity in Berlin-Caquetá is the coffee harvest, the idea of celebrating this industry through a Children's Coffee Beauty Contest was an initiative promoted by the director of the Cultural Center and some people from Berlin town. This contest alludes to the cultural promotion and it is celebrated since 2002 every August.
