The "Yagé"

To cure diseases, the native people take the sick person -around midnight- and the "Yagé" is ready and served in a container and put in the middle of the "Maloca", the chief of the has already a bunch of leaves and the sick person is placed at the upper part of the house (if the sick person has a curse or a disease can be placed inside the house). The ritual starts with a dance around the ill person, taking the leaves in their hands and blowing over the person. The chief whistles with certain and comes back to his hammock where he continues singing and starts a journey to heal the sick person; he carries on with the ritual until he finishes the drink. The next day, they rest and begin their daily work and the sick person stands up without any disease.
