The Fragua Chorroso river has become the best symbol of the region; this river was listed as one of a kind because it has the most crystalline and cold water of the department. It is known and popular with local people and visitors in summer where people cook the traditional "sancocho de gallina" (a kind of chicken soup with different vegetables and tubers) this activity is better known as "paseo de olla" (a stroll). During this time the families and groups of friends meet to cook the mentioned chicken soup in a bonfire and also they enjoy taking a bath on the river. The most remarkable ponds on the river are: El Puente, El Silencio, Las Lajas y El Noventa. Every pound have easy access and entrances for the visitors.
