It is a young city located in the foothills of the Cordillera Oriental. It limits by the North with the Department of Huila and El Paujil municipality, on the East by the municipalities of El Paujil and La Montañita, to the South with the municipalities of Milan and Morelia, and by the West with the municipality of Belen de los Andaquies and the Huila Department.

This capital city is surrounded by the rivers axe, Carano, Orteguaza, San Pedro, Bodoquero and some creeks such as the sardine and the Partridge; important Center for the history of the city.

Routes of communication

Land:

the city is connected to the interior of the country through the following connections to the national road network:

National road 20: enters the Eastern Cordillera in direction North-West to intercept with the National Highway 45. In this way it can be to Neiva and from there to the most important cities of Colombia.
