The Caquetá Museum was founded in 1999, with the support of the Corporation for the Promotion of Research and Community Development CORFOCOM-COLOMBIA who made the legal steps to obtain a Museable record issued by the Ministry of Culture.

The Caquetá Museum has been dedicated to documenting and writing historical and cultural aspects of the Caqueta and its municipalities, which are disseminated through publications as a strategy of social appropriation of the generated knowledge.
