The creation of the Episcopal curia dates from December 9th papal bull in 1985 and its first bishop was Monsignor José Luis Serna Alzate. This place owns a beautiful colonial architecture reflected in its courtyard adorned with beautiful gardens and arches. Here it is possible to find three great works that are part of the history of Florencia: the bust of Fray Jaime Igualada (architect and builder of the Cathedral), the original statue of "La virgen de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes" and handwritten copies of the act of the foundation of Florencia by the Capuchin Doroteo de Pupiales Doroteo in 1902.
