This festival is considered the most important departamental event and it is also the mean projection for the community of Caquetá; the festival is the Caquetá musical showcase for  the country and it allows to show the multiculturalism of the region as a result of the colonization processes by settlers of all Colombian regions.

"El colono de oro", which takes place each December, has generated to regional artists a space in order to raise creation in its composition style, adorning in the way the Colombian staff. The festival is also a space of projection for regional singers, who share performers with high quality and training artists qualifying their knowledge and attitude towards regional music. About the farmers, they have been showing their music through the festival and it has get an important place in colombian identity music.
